Kurahaupo Residence

This steep site situated in Orakei, Mission Bay Auckland, climbs almost 10m from the roadside entry to the rear. The nature of the site immediately came with challenges; not only do the units have to step dramatically with split floor levels, but the height to boundary and maximum height controls were more difficult to avoid. We worked closely with the planner to overcome these controls and still produce an excellent, contemporary pair of units, each boasting large floor to ceiling heights, fluid indoor-outdoor flow and superb views over the neighbouring trees out towards Rangitoto island.
